An intoxicating crescendo Light and captivating notes in a crescendo which intoxicates the senses and the heart, releasing a sensation of joy that is ever more infectious. The sparkling music and the ethereal language become one, in one of the best-known motifs of La Traviata. “Libiamo ne' lieti calici”. Once again, Giuseppe Verdi shows himself to be a true master of the art of translating the text into a pulsating rhythm and sublime harmonies. Note di Colonia I celebrates one of Italian opera's best-known episodes. Its vibrant composition emits an atmosphere that is joyful and full of vivacity. Its strong characteristic cologne flows in a strictly modern orchestration given by its aromatic notes.
Captivating and lively Its opening is a radiant joy straight away. An explosion of bergamot, in its sparkling and most prized Italian quality, as well as the bright notes of neroli. The citrus start, classically cologne, sweetens and becomes soft and embracing as it encounters the heart of the fragrance, which is unexpectedly aromatic. Here, the composition fuses the freshness of lavender with the velvety warmth of Damascus rose and violet accord. In the rich and sumptuous finale there is a refined combination of patchouli and cedar wood. Precious essences which give the fragrance a satisfying depth and refinement, making it absolutely unique.

INTENSE PRELUDE A cold, starry night with the dawn about to break. A suspenseful and heart-rending atmosphere, imbued with hope. The certainty of victory in the soul. “Nessun dorma”, Turandot. One of the most famous romances in which Giacomo Puccini, true poet of the emotions, modulates the subtle impulses of the human spirit in a masterful way. Calaf sings his love for the icy princess, in a crescendo where trust becomes greater and more intense. Note di Colonia II is a homage to Puccini's art and to this true masterpiece. A fragrance which knows how to modulate the inner nuances of a wait which precedes the rising of the new day. The prelude to the triumph of the feelings. A composition which is sophisticated and complex, which skilfully mingles fresh citrus notes with woody and aromatic emphases.
ANDANTE SOSTENUTO The citrus opening is magnificent in its vitality. The radiant notes of bergamot, orange and grapefruit express the hope that emerges in the darkness. The olfactory rhythm is ever more sustained and strong with vibrant notes of basil and cardamom. And whilst the chill and the solitude of the night begin to lessen in the first warmth of the rising sun, the extraordinarily soft and engaging tones of sandalwood arrive united with the smoky grey tones of gaiac, giving a comforting sensation of consistency and depth to the heart of the composition. Emotions which are enriched in the velvet base by new undertones, with the refined encounter of musk and vetiver.

A MAGNIFICENT MUSICAL SCORE Spectacular crowd scenes, dances, music, fireworks and the splendour of the costumes. The “Marcia Trionfale” in Aida represents the peak of this grandiose opera. And in Aida Giuseppe Verdi puts his theatrical capabilities to the test. In this opera, more than any other, the maestro makes a masterful and innovative use of the orchestra. It is the wind instruments which create that triumphal atmosphere, as well as the splendour of the costumes and the bustle on stage, to communicate victory and heroism. The opera's most colossal and spectacular aspect reaches one of its most solemn moments. And Note di Colonia III, with its majestic and triumphant notes, glorifies one of the most famous pages of Italian opera.
MELODIOUS AND MAJESTIC The glorious and vibrant accord of mandarin and ginger conquers straight away with its vigour. The notes are enriched in the heart with touches of vetiver which finds a deep counterpoint to its dry and woody accents in the warm and resinous note of olibanum brightened by jasmine. A powerful and melodious orchestration which strides majestically. In its final part, the fragrance transmits a sense of eternity, with the refined notes of tonka bean which meet the intense and full-bodied ones of ciste labdanum and myrrh.

  • 1916-2016. Acqua di Parma celebrates its 100 Year Anniversary and its association with Parma, the city of dukes, the cradle of culture, aristocratic art and the famous Italian Opera, whose roots can be traced to the Royal Theatre of Parma.

Parma. A city of music and opera. A fountain of inspiration.

The spirit of Parma owes much to music. A city and its spirit. In the 16th and 17th centuries, lutes and harpsichords echoed through the Farnese court, in the vaults of the cathedral and in the church of the Steccata. This is the city of Giuseppe Verdi, Arturo Toscanini and home to many opera houses. Amongst these was the Teatro Ducale, a gem built entirely in wood and inaugurated in 1628 which, having become too “small” with its 1200 seats, was knocked down to begin construction of the Teatro Regio at the beginning of the 19th century. The theatre was to become famous throughout the world. This led to Parma becoming the cradle of Italian opera. One of the most vital cornerstones of what had become a widespread passion for opera that continues as much today as it did then. And in the theatres, the parlours and palaces of the nobility of this city, a new, subtle harmony was launched in 1916. A fragrance which is striking and fascinating because of its unusually fresh and modern notes. Colonia Acqua di Parma, a new classic which was destined for timeless success. Orchestrating this composition was Carlo Magnani, a man of great elegance and refinement, the cultured and refined heir of an aristocratic family of Parma, who was himself passionate about music and opera.
  • A collection of rare, sophisticated, genuine fragrance that interprets famous Italian Opera themes and links them with Acqua di Parma's original Colonia scent. The collection consists of new distinguished olfactory virtuoso creations that are housed in a precious bottle inspired by the original design of the very first historical bottle of Colonia from 1916.

Music and elegance combine in a new Colonia Collection.

1916 – 2016. Acqua di Parma has reached its first centenary. Its origins are inextricably linked to the city of Parma, where Colonia, the fragrance which marked its debut, was born and where the brand has been cultivating the values of art, music and elegance from birth.
To celebrate the Centenary and pay homage to its city and its heritage, Acqua di Parma is creating Note di Colonia. A new Collection which finds inspiration from the world of opera. Three different fragrances, each packaged contained in a reinterpretation of Colonia's first bottle. Acqua di Parma dedicates Note di Colonia to the rich and important tradition of Italian opera. A sophisticated and prestigious Collection, inspired by the composers and by the operas which made the history of this much-loved musical genre. The passion, the art and the emotions contained in the precious world of opera relive in a Collection which goes back to Acqua di Parma's origins.
